The Global Diabetes Compact Forum is a network of stakeholders, including nongovernmental organizations, academic institutions, philanthropic foundations and other organizations, established by WHO to support and advance the vision of the Global Diabetes Compact.
The Forum’s collective goal is to advocate for a world where the risk of diabetes is reduced and all people who are diagnosed with diabetes have access to equitable, comprehensive, affordable, quality treatment and care.
Running from 2021 to 2030, the Forum aims to foster a unified approach to diabetes advocacy and collaboration. It addresses a critical gap in the field of diabetes by creating a dedicated space for WHO and Forum members to exchange ideas, share information and align on key priorities.

How we engage with other groups
In addition to our engagement through the Forum, we also work with people living with diabetes. Our annual virtual engagement events for people living with diabetes and World Diabetes Day activities provide opportunities for people with lived experience to connect with others and give feedback on WHO initiatives.
We also engage professionals with technical expertise in different areas of diabetes prevention and care through the Technical Advisory Group on Diabetes (TAG-D). TAG-D members provide WHO with advice on strategic direction, support the development of guidance and research and provide country support to WHO Member States.
